Yasunobu Sato

Yasunobu Sato, an esteemed advisor at our organization, brings an exceptional academic and professional background. He holds a Doctorate in Law from the University of London’s Institute of Advanced Legal Studies and an LL.M. from Harvard Law School. Formerly a professor at the University of Tokyo, he led the ‘Human Security’ program and directed the Global Area Studies Institute’s Center for Sustainable Peace. His legal career spans roles in Japan, New York, Amsterdam, and Brussels, including positions at UNHCR and UNTAC, and as a lawyer at the EBRD. Yasunobu is also noted for his publications on refugees, human security, and global governance, significantly contributing to the discourse on these critical issues.
